For us it is Monday June 4 about 4:30PM. We arose this morning in Braunfels, had breakfast at our inn and loaded up the car for the 3 hour or so drive to Dinkelsbuhl.

The drive to Dinkelsbuhl was uneventful mostly on main highways ... while we tooled along the autobahn at around 80mph in our Ford Focus wagon ... we were regularly passed as if we were standing still by Audi's, BMW's, Mercedes, and a number of VW Golfs ... they had to be doing well over 100mph. Very different than the driving experience we had in England!
Dinkelsbuhl is a beautiful small village (on the "inside of the wall" ) of only a few thousand people. We are staying at a "Guest house" similar to a bed and breakfast.
The rooms are VERY nice ....
and decidedly bigger than what we had in Braunfels.
We arrived after noon so we walked downtown and found a very small butcher shop/deli that had a few tables ... Bratwurst and Fries for Carolyn and I, Curry Wurst and Fries for Woodie and Linda. Later we raided a small bakery and all got something to 'snack' on ... very yummy!

Tomorrow we will motor up the road about thirty miles to Rothenburg .. Woodie has warned me that he and I will spend a lot of time in the cafe there while the ladies shop.
